MSW: The Board Game of Eternity
MSW: The Deafening Sigh
This spazzy wife comic happens with subtle variations almost bi-monthly, but this is a good encapsulation of what goes on. BEHOLD:
MSW: Inspiration
MSW: In the Car
I’m fairly certain I posted this comic once, long ago, but I can’t seem to find it in our archives so I’ll put it up again! Haha!
This one was drawn quite a while ago; BEHOLD:
Also this is my first time doing a half decent job drawing a car. I even did a custom license plate and hood ornament!

“This one, as per usual, happened pretty much verbatim. I was just sitting there doing nothing at all and suddenly I get an earful of Spaz, in the car no less!”
When the hell are you posting the lamb one, you lying liarface who makes up lies?
-
I think you’re the liarface. Look at that face full of lies.

MSW: Coffee
I was going to come up with some sort of amazing witty article title but it turns out “Coffee” is the only word necessary to carry the full deep meaning of today’s comic. BEHOLD:
I have to say I’m really happy about that initial yawning pose I drew.

I don’t get it. Why was she up all night drinking coffee and what were you accused of not caring about?
Although I do appreciate that classic whumping.
-
Well obviously she wants me to stay up late with her alllll night on her caffeine rush, and if I don’t, it’s a sign I don’t love her!
If you were married you’d know that.
Fortunately for me the caffeine rush runs out pretty quick, but I did make a subsequent “no coffee after 9pm” rule.
Put those fingers to the keys!
MSW: Passive Aggressive Dinner
Each word in the title of this post has a double consonant! WOW!
Want another real-life story? BEHOLD:
In this particular comic I’m not too happy with a few things. I think I don’t like the way the mouths escape the face in panels one and two (but I do like it in panel three). I think my aghast expression in the third panel doesn’t quite fit the text. And worst of all, I think My Spazzy Wife looks like Birdo in the third panel. Just a little.
But this comic does showcase MSW’s new Cat skirt. Pretty, huh!?!

I think this ends rather sweetly, or at least nobody dies in a fire breath fiasco

IN MY DEFENSE - he’d been gone for weeks and my roommate and I had gotten in the habit of just kinda making cold meals/snacks for dinner. The “gourmet meal” I prepared with new spices, was a freaking wrap. I’m not even sure I bothered to put sandwhich meat in it.

MSW: THIRTY?!
One of the reasons I enjoy doing My Spazzy Wife comics is because they’re usually word-for-word conversations I actually have with my spazzy wife. “It’s funny because it’s true” as they say.
Today’s comic is no different! BEHOLD:
I particularly like the range of emotions expressed in this comic.
For the curious; my process is fairly simple. I can usually sketch out the scene with a light pencil (4H baby!) in about 3-4 minutes, and I usually draw it out as-I-go (no planning of any kind). I’ll take another 60 seconds to fill in the conversation.
I usually show the comic in this form to a few friends; I gauge their reactions. You see, I have two really bad habits; I assume my audience knows too much (particularly when it comes to video games and computers), and I have this really bad habit of using inside jokes that are ultra-funny to a few of my friends and completely useless to everyone else.
I usually wait a few days before inking the comic. This gives me time to mull over the situation in my head. When I’m inking it out I’m just re-drawing the comic on top of my old pencil sketch, but I draw a little bit slower which results in much neater lines (obviously). A lot of times I will tweak expressions or change positioning of arms and such items; I don’t re-sketch it with pencil first either. Then I draw in the conversation, and this almost always has a few changes while I’m inking. I then do a poor job of erasing my pencil marks and scan it in. If I need to, I’ll play with the white/black levels in Photoshop before posting.
All in all, I can have a comic sketched and uploaded within 10 minutes if need be. Ahh the simplicity of it all.
I’m still learning too; changing up minor style points for each character. I forget simple details sometimes (I often forget the eyelashes on female characters, and in today’s comic I forgot to put a dress on MSW) and I’m still playing with things like drawing the tongue in the mouth, using teeth, and different styles of motion lines. I think I’ve settled on using mittens for hands instead of ye olde stick-fingers. I like discussing these finer points of comic drawing but actual artists don’t want to seriously discuss different aspects of stickmen for some reason.

Hi!
Without taking into account the issue of establishing a stone by God, which he won’t be able to pick up, how do you think, may be something in this world, what can God never see?
