What is The Daily Blitz?

Posted on December 6th, 2005 by weasel

The Daily Blitz is a multi-talented web-based magazine/newspaper (Blog, Zine, Webzine, Zblog, whatever) that delivers news and thoughts on Music, Art, Literature, Movies, what happened at the pub last week, and other news-worthy events.

With a current staff of 9 and recently reaching 250,000 hits per month, it’s becoming quite the project!

The website’s namesake, #BLITZ, is an IRC chatroom that was first established in 1999 for the launch of the online MMOG, World War II Online. Though most of us do not play the game anymore, the chatroom has held on throughout the years and is still active today. “Teh Blitz” was the original website name, and contained nothing but news from and for the IRC Chatroom. “The Daily Blitz” evolved from there to become what it is today.

Changelog for the site found here.

I’m actually 18% TOO cool for this. I’m working on bringing it down though.

Put those fingers to the keys!
